April Club Day Concert

Whanganui Jazz Orchestra is a group of musicians from the Manawatu-Whanganui region who gather for rehearsals on a weekly basis and perform regularly for their own enjoyment as a community group.

The jazz orchestra includes players from all walks of life, from professionals to retirees. They have an extensive variety of musical genres from the Big Band style era of the 20s,30s, 40s through to Jazz, Latin and Rock styles of the years since.

Conductor and musical director Riwai Hina has been leading the jazz orchestra for 2 years and has an impressive musical pedigree as an instrumentalist and music arranger for the New Zealand Army Band and other nationally renowned musical organisations.

Our MJC club day concerts usually take place on the second Sunday of the month - all are welcome
